Beauty With a Purpose

Video is credit to Miss World Pty Ltd

Created by Julia Morley in 1971, Beauty with a Purpose is the heart and soul of Miss World. Over the years, this initiative has tirelessly raised funds for numerous worthy causes, donating more than $1 billion USD to local and international organisations aiding disadvantaged children worldwide.

Variety, The Children’s Charity, has been a steadfast partner of Miss World for many years. When Julia Morley was inaugurated as International President of Variety at the Guildhall in London, ten former Miss World winners joined her in support, underscoring the deep connection between the two organisations.

The impact of Beauty with a Purpose extends globally. It has funded Cleft Palate Teams in South America, Sri Lanka, and Russia; supported Operation Hunger and the Nelson Mandela Trust in Africa; and collaborated with Jackie Chan and the Chinese Red Cross to bring aid to those affected by the Asian tsunami.

This mission is not limited to the titleholder alone. National representatives and license holders are actively encouraged to support meaningful projects in their own countries.

Contestants are expected to volunteer their time or fundraise for local initiatives, showcasing their dedication to making a difference.

Their hard work, dedication, and tangible results put them in the running for the prestigious Beauty with a Purpose Award, which honours the Miss World contestant who has made a significant impact in her homeland.

Bush to Beach

Variety the Children's Charity Australia

Bush to Beach is a transformative program that brings up to 50 young people, along with their carers, from Brewarrina, Goodooga, Bourke, and surrounding communities in far north-west NSW to Sydney’s Northern Beaches for a three-day camp each year. This special trip offers participants a unique opportunity to explore new environments and gain invaluable experiences, many of whom may see the ocean or a traffic light for the first time.

The program also serves as an incentive for students to maintain good school attendance and behaviour. By working closely with the Brewarrina community, Bush to Beach encourages young people to stay engaged with their education, rewarding those who demonstrate dedication and positive behaviour throughout the year. At Miss World Australia, we proudly support Bush to Beach’s mission to enrich the lives of young people through this invaluable experience.

Beauty with a Purpose: 'Breaking the Silence'

A Mission for Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness in Australia

Australia is often seen as a land of opportunity, but beneath the surface lies a confronting national crisis—domestic and family violence. In just the past 14 months, over 120 women and children have lost their lives due to this epidemic. Last year alone, more than 300,000 domestic violence incidents were reported to police, with emergency callouts peaking at over 10,000 per week—averaging one every minute.

For Miss World Australia 2024, Jasmine Stringer, these statistics are more than numbers—they represent shattered lives and families forever changed. Jasmine’s Beauty with a Purpose project, “Breaking the Silence,” is a deeply personal initiative inspired by the tragic loss of her close family friend, Tara Brown, who was killed in a devastating act of domestic violence in 2015.

In honour of Tara’s memory, Jasmine proudly serves as a committee member of the Tara Brown Foundation, where she works to support survivors, raise awareness, and push for real, impactful change across communities. Through her role on the foundation’s board, Jasmine collaborates closely with Tara’s mother, Natalie Hinton, amplifying the voices of those directly affected and working to turn tragedy into transformation.

As part of her ongoing efforts, Jasmine is using her Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education to develop early intervention youth programs focused on healthy relationships, respect, and emotional literacy. These programs are designed to be integrated into the Australian school curriculum, reaching young minds at a formative age.

In addition, Jasmine has authored a children’s book that explores the topic of domestic violence in a way that is accessible and empowering for young readers. Through this resource, she hopes to foster empathy, understanding, and safety in classrooms and homes across the country.

Her work extends to underserved communities as well, with outreach initiatives such as Bush to Beach, where she shares her message and educational tools with First Nations youth.

With unwavering passion and purpose, Jasmine is committed to breaking the cycle of silence and violence—building a future where respect and kindness are the norm, and where no one has to live in fear in their own home.

Together with the Tara Brown Foundation, Jasmine Stringer is not just raising awareness—she’s laying the foundations for real, lasting change.

Beauty with a Purpose: 'Blooming Through Adversity'

Blooming Through Adversity: Samantha Poole’s Beauty with a Purpose Mission

At the heart of Beauty with a Purpose is the belief that true beauty is found in service, strength, and authenticity. For Samantha Poole, Miss World New Zealand 2025, this belief is not just a philosophy—it’s a lived experience.

Her project, "Blooming Through Adversity," is deeply rooted in her personal journey with scoliosis, a condition that once made her feel different, isolated, and self-conscious. Diagnosed as a teenager, Samantha endured years of physical pain and body image challenges, often battling a sense of invisibility. But instead of allowing her struggles to limit her, she chose to turn pain into purpose.

In 2022, Samantha founded Anni Bloom, a charity dedicated to anyone who has ever felt unseen, unworthy, or not enough. What began as a personal healing journey has since blossomed into a nationwide movement of inclusivity and empowerment.

Anni Bloom hosts inclusive fashion shows, creative workshops, school outreach programs, and collaborates with organisations like the Glass Ceiling Arts Collective, which supports young people with disabilities. Through these initiatives, Samantha creates safe spaces for youth to celebrate their individuality, redefine beauty on their own terms, and feel empowered to bloom through whatever adversity they may face—physical, emotional, or societal.

Beyond her work with Anni Bloom, Samantha serves as a proud ambassador for Brave, a New Zealand-based charity committed to preventing sexual harm through youth-focused education and advocacy. Her involvement reflects her commitment to creating safer, more compassionate communities where young people are protected, supported, and heard.

Samantha is also a dedicated member of Zonta International, contributing to global service projects that uplift women and girls and advocating for gender equality at both local and international levels.

Her mission is as powerful as it is personal:

To help young people realise that they are not broken—they are growing.
Their difference is not a flaw, but their strength.
And in a world obsessed with comparison, choosing to be authentic is the bravest act of all.

Now, as she prepares to represent Aotearoa New Zealand on the global stage at the 72nd Miss World Festival in Telangana, India, Samantha brings with her a message of resilience, compassion, and unwavering self-love. She stands as a voice for those who feel different—and as living proof that with kindness and courage, we can all bloom through adversity.
