1st March 2026

Meet Olivija - a South Australian woman on a mission to create impact beyond the title. Now holding the role of Miss World Australia, Olivija Spanovskis is preparing to represent the nation on the international stage this year, using her platform to advance responsible travel, cultural understanding, and care for Country. Grounded in a career in experiential tourism, her work is guided by a deep respect for Australia’s landscapes, cultures, and communities. At the heart of her advocacy is OurKanyini, the purpose project she founded, inspired by the Pitjantjatjara principle of unconditional love with responsibility, through which she encourages deeper connection, education, and stewardship of the places we share.

MISS WORLD AUSTRALIA | Where Strength Meets Purpose

Miss World Australia is a national leadership platform shaping the next generation of high-impact public figures. Rooted in a global legacy founded in 1951, the program develops women with presence, purpose, and the discipline to lead in public. This is not just about being a face. It is about becoming a voice.

Each year, a curated group of women step into a rigorous development pathway that sharpens capability and presence, paired with a platform that amplifies reach and impact. Participants are challenged beyond comfort zones through immersive experiences, strategic workshops, and real-world exposure, building the composure, clarity, and resilience required to lead in public with credibility. Every finalist shapes a personal philanthropic mission aligned with Beauty With a Purpose, ensuring visibility is grounded in real contribution.

Contestants are selected from VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, and SA. At the conclusion of the competition, one representative from each state is crowned, alongside the new Miss World Australia. Each titleholder carries her title through the year before passing it on at the following grand final. The year in between becomes a defining chapter of personal and professional growth.

The Miss World title opens doors few platforms can. Recent winners have built loyal international audiences, featured in Forbes 30 Under 30, walked Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week and leading international runways, launched charitable foundations, engaged with world leaders, travelled globally across cultural and luxury circuits, attended the world’s most exclusive events, and appeared on the covers of publications including Vogue. This is the level of access Miss World Australia prepares its representatives to enter with confidence and credibility.

The Miss World Australia program produces modern ambassadors who are media-trained, values-led, and commercially fluent. Skills developed span runway and presentation, influence strategy, psychology, sales, public speaking, leadership, and purpose-driven brand building. Graduates move with ease in high-stakes rooms and carry themselves with authority across every platform.

Miss World Australia partners with future-facing brands seeking strong, credible women who lead with both influence and substance. For participants, it is a place to step into your presence. For partners, it is a platform aligned with excellence, cultural relevance, and ethical leadership.

FAQs

What does the winner of Miss World Australia receive? A: Contestants have the opportunity to be crowned either Miss World Australia or one of the official Miss World Australia State Representatives - Miss World Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, or South Australia. Each year, State Representatives are crowned as ambassadors for their state. State Titleholders receive an official tiara and sash, participate in the Global Winners Tour (four trips throughout the year), receive 12 months of mentorship, media exposure and personal branding support, and have flights and accommodation provided to attend the national final. During their reign, State Titleholders work closely with the Miss World Australia team, gaining experience, industry connections and professional development that positions them strongly should they choose to compete again the following season. From these outstanding women, one contestant is crowned Miss World Australia and earns the honour of representing Australia on the global stage at the Miss World International Grand Final. Miss World Australia receives the national crown and sash, international flights and accommodation to compete at Miss World, a competition wardrobe and beauty package, participation in the Global Winners Tour, and ongoing PR, media and branding support throughout her reign. All titleholders enter into an official Titleholder Contract, representing their state or nation while receiving professional guidance, media opportunities and the chance to grow as influential public figures within a global network of inspiring women.

How can I apply? A: Applications open on 9th of March via the application form on this website (Click: COMPETITION > Apply). Places are limited and may close without warning once capacity is reached, so we recommend applying as soon as applications open.

How much time does the program require? A: The program is designed to work alongside normal life commitments such as work, university, and family. Most program elements are scheduled in advance and primarily take place during evenings or weekends. Contestants participate in occasional digital workshops, charity initiatives, and key events across the season. Many participants find the experience energising rather than overwhelming, as it becomes a powerful personal development journey alongside their everyday life.

How much does it cost to participate? A: Selected applicants contribute a $350 participation fee to take part in the Preliminary Program (Phase 1), which includes workshops, professional experiences, and program delivery across the first stage of the competition. This initial investment provides access to experiences that would typically cost thousands of dollars to organise independently. Across the season, contestants gain access to opportunities valued at over $7,000, including exclusive events, professional photoshoots, brand development sessions, workshops, mentorship, and partner gifting. Contestants who progress to the State Finalist stage are invited to continue into Phase 2 of the program, which involves a second participation investment. Full details of program inclusions and the 2026 competition timeline can be found in “The Competition Experience” under the Competition section of the website menu.

Do I need modelling or pageant experience to apply? A: Not at all. Many contestants enter Miss World Australia with no prior modelling or pageant experience. The program attracts women from all backgrounds including students, entrepreneurs, creatives, professionals, and community leaders. What matters most is authenticity, confidence, ambition, and a desire to grow. Miss World Australia celebrates women who are passionate about making an impact, not just those with previous experience on stage.

What are judges actually looking for? A: Miss World Australia is far more than a beauty pageant. It is part of a global platform that celebrates women who are committed to personal growth, leadership, and making a meaningful impact in the world. Judging considers a range of qualities including confidence, communication, authenticity, leadership, and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. While presentation and stage presence are part of the experience, judges are equally interested in the person behind the title — her story, her purpose, and how she carries herself both on and off stage. At its heart, Miss World Australia encourages women to step into the spotlight, embrace their potential, and lead by example. The goal is to identify women who inspire others, contribute to their communities, and represent the values of modern leadership, influence, and integrity on a national and international stage.

What if I don’t win? A: For most contestants, the greatest value of Miss World Australia comes from the journey rather than the final result. Participants gain access to professional photoshoots, networking opportunities, workshops, charity experiences, and a national community of inspiring women. Many contestants leave the program with lifelong friendships, increased confidence, and opportunities that extend far beyond the competition itself. While only one woman ultimately holds the national title, the experience often becomes a defining chapter of personal growth for everyone involved.
